Control panel alarm battery needs replacing

Hearing this audio on my hkc alarm -

I only put new battery in attic for saab not that long ago - I presume this is the RKP?

any ideas how much these batteries are ?

presume just remove and change using engineer code ? Thanks

On the Quantum there is a timer on the battery, this needs to be reset.

In engineer mode, go to service menu, scroll to Eng tools menu, battery menu, replace battery.

This resets the timer on the battery. A battery after 3 years is about 80% so doing this should be fine.

With later versions of the software, disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting after few seconds will also clear this fault on the system.

Thanks , just followed your instructions there ! Haven't been in/ out since - ! That's when the audio message occurs - thanks - oh , is the mesage - Control panel alarm battery needs replacing - referring to the back up battery , which I fitted in the attic and connected to Saab , some ago - I wonder? No, its the control panels battery itself, the one with the keypad built in.

Once you reset the timer you should be all good, next time it comes up id recommend replacing the battery.
