Extending Shared Driveway by a few meters

I have a shared driveway and want to make it a bit wider as it would make it easier for me to get my new van in and out. Would not mind having it done myself (as my neighbors are on board). What do I have to do and how to make it as easy and painless as possible? I live in Kildare.

Apply for planning permission first.
I’ve done a few like this in Dublin where the 2 neighbors are on board but 2 separate applications have to go in for each property at the same time.

I’d address the root cause first and get some driving lessons perhaps. Unless you’re gone from a Focus van to the largest transit you’re in trouble
