Hi,im entitled to 5 week parents leave (7 from July),my company are telling me I have to take it in one 5 week block,but i want to take it in 1 week blocks.It says on the citizen information that it can be taken in 1 week blocks,but is this up to the companies discretion?.Id be greatful for some advice please

It’s 100% clear. 5 weeks or 1 week at a time.
There’s terrible confusion in HR departments about paternity leave parents leave and parental leave.
All of them have different rules.
Email your HR department attaching the page from Citizensinformation.ie about parents leave.
Point out the specifics.
Tell them the date you want to go and the date you’ll be back.
Beware, they can postpone that for 12 weeks.
