Saddle Board over laminate - Need a low profile one

I'm installing 12mm thick laminate in the hallway, I have the exact same laminate laid in the adjacent sitting room. I was hoping to be able to use a saddle board to cover the expansion gap between the rooms, but the ones I've seen in woodies are too high at 15mm and they won't allow the door to close over it. I have about 10mm gap under the door after the laminate is down.

Is it possible to get a lower profile saddle board, or get one made that way?

I'd prefer to not plane the underside of the door. I'm also trying to avoid using a threshold strip if possible because I need the extra width a saddle board provides in order to avoid getting caught with a very thin strip of laminate at the opposite wall.
