So here we are, not everyone's favourite track but it's a new gen of cars and a lot of teams bringing upgrade packages so let's hope for an interesting affair.

All anyone is talking about really is Aston Martins B spec car which looks very similar to the Red Bull so they're definitely one to keep an eye on!

Teams have to reveal details of all their upgrades this season. Mclaren, Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo have a long list of changes. Others have minimal changes for Barcelona.

For as long as I can remember there’s always been hype every year that some team or other has a big upgrade package coming into Spain, but usually all teams are developing and cancel each other out and we rarely see a meaningful difference in the competitive order. Maybe with the cost cap forcing teams to be more selective that will be different this year.

Have FP1 on in the background, I see they have a new camera angle with a drone for cars going through a few corners. I can see them using this far too often in the race, likely causing us to miss more overtakes...

Very rare I'd defend this awful software but there'll be a flag being set (or not set) somewhere so that the way your phone decides the orientation of the photo isn't being reflected once they're uploaded. Fixing that on the site-side could mean breaking it for everyone else. 😅

That was one of the warmest experiences of my life. We binned off the last FP session and went back to the Airbnb because it’s just too hot. Not sure what to do about tomorrow. I want to watch quali but i don’t think I’ll be going down super early. We have seats in a grandstand but it’s not covered and the view is better from the grassy hills in the general admission areas.

The cars are loud as fcuk. I can’t imagine what it was like with the V10s. In the main grandstand at the start/finish line it was over 90 decibels on my phone if there was 2 cars or more passing together. I’m bringing ear plugs tomorrow. I found it impossible to get good info about attending this GP online so after the weekend I’ll do a bit of a write up on this forum and hopefully it might help others in the future.

Nope, no problem with competition. No affiliation with any particular team or driver.

I just can't stomach the reporting and carry on of Merc and Hamilton and do not look forward to the tripe they will start on with if they start getting podiums again.

I dunno about the V10s but honestly the V6s are nothing on the V8s. Like, it's a completely different experience. Ya know how you can hear the road noise? The whoosh of the car (not the turbo :P)? Yeah, absolutely none of that. At Imola pretty few people had earplugs this year that I saw, in Spa with V8s everyone did. I went without for the first practice like a Billy Big Balls but had to have my fingers in my ear for most of it and paid a silly amount of money for some. :P Anywhere near the track I could feel my diaphragm or ribs vibrate or resonate when the cars were within a couple of hundred metres. And the responsiveness and symphonics when the throttle was applied. It's one of the few things I've experienced in my life that likely no-one will experience again and it wasn't even as good as the V10s. 🤣
