milking parlour noise

Hi

I'm currently running a 16x32 Dairymaster parlour. It has two vacuum pumps, there is a lot of extra vacuum produced and this make the vacuum regulator in the parlour make a lot of noise. Just wondering if anyone has this issue, not sure if the regulator can be relocated or is a variable speed vacuum pump would make it less noisy

Any thoughts.....

Variable speed will make less noise and use far less electricity.

Have you manual wash? Parlour I milk in the odd time used to have that issue, I used to open the wash valve the smallest bit and it used to keep the needle on the red mark

I hate noisy machines, new one from Delaval is silent from outside

Had a similar issue here with a 20 unit dairymaster machine, they were able to move the regulator to the plant room and this rectified the issue.

Are both pumps needed for a 16 unit. Most 16 units run with just one pump

Change the pulley on one of the pumps to make it run a little slower so the regulator isn't working as hard
