Does Today FM have any regionally-produced programming?

Look at 2FM over the years and it's had shows being broadcast from RTÉ studios not only in Donnybrook but also Limerick, Galway and possibly Cork. What about Today FM? Do they have any shows recorded regionally or do they all come from Marconi House?

All of them come from Marconi House as far as I’m aware but I remember they did previously have studios in Cork pre-pandemic. They opened them in 2018/2019 I think?

Bauer have studios in Dundrum Town Centre also, but that's not really regional!

2FM would have had something from virtually every studio going, particularly when they used to put Pulse shows on occasionally - some of them were from Athlone, Belfast etc

Newstalk have studios in Cork but I don't know if TodayFM ever use them. They've moved around a lot - Opera Lane, then I think they were in with RedFM for a bit and somewhere else since. Jonathan Healy regularly does shows from there.

The studios in Dundrum are owned by the shopping centre themselves, who in turn licence Communicorp (The arrangements go back a few years now.) to broadcast some live shows from it. 2FM used to broadcast from it back in the day when they had listeners.

Dublin South FM have been based in the shopping centre since 2007. It is apt that they use it, given that the development of the shopping centre actually lost them their old home in the Pye Centre.

A good few 2FM shows came from Dundrum like Ruth and Paddy "Weekenders"....or Larry used to do one show a week from there.

A tad off topic but both Radio Ireland/Today FMs and Century radios original licence applications promised s**t loads of regional output and a regional presence better than RTE, They were promising 200 odd full-time staff at one stage. it just goes to show you can throw down any borderline piss taking on your original application without any consequence, even though it was as clear as day that independent radio stations could never delivery that level of service 🙄

I think it would be nice for Today FM to utilise their Cork studios for at least one show.

Wouldn't know much about the local stations down there, but if one if them did a show on Today FM from Cork when they moved on from their current station, that would be nice.

No one at all, it wouldn't even be noticeable but she hops between the regular pronunciation that we all know and the emphasis on the -on. It's quite weird once you notice it, and then you can't stop noticing it!

She's been broadcasting on today fm for a couple of years now and always from Marconi house. I know there's upset that Pamela Joyce wasn't accomodated to continue her show from Galway but that's probably not long term sustainable.

No. If they'd accommodated her, it'd only be a matter of time before somebody else came along looking for the very same thing. I can understand why they didn't want to go down that road. What would they have to do? Start kitting presenters out with expensive home studios and hope their broadband doesn't go down? Rent studio space?

I don't think RTE ever made full use of their regional studios when they had them all up and running. Does anybody use the Cork one on a regular basis apart from John Creedon?

Donacha Ó Callaghan is there approximately 70% of the time for the breakfast show. Gold Breakfast is done from Limerick as well
