Non resident seeking draft in Euros

I am a U.S. resident with dual Irish citizenship. I am helping my 3 sons with their applications for Irish citizenship and need to submit a euro denominated draft/check to the Department of Justice with their applications. I have tried with no success most major U.S. banks including Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, BMO Harris, Wells Fargo, and Schwab. I’ve also tried several foreign currency exchanges here in the Chicago area with no success. A few that I’ve visited with previously offered this service but do not any longer. Is this something BOI can assist me with? Unfortunately I do not have plans to be in Ireland in the next year. Thank you in advance for any assistance or direction you can provide

Thanks for sharing. I talked to them and this may be true (I say may as Wells told me they could do it so I opened an account with them, only to be told when I went to buy the drafts they could send a euro draft only to Austria), but TD told me they require an in person branch visit which is a round trip airline ticket for me. There has to be a cheaper, more efficient way to do this.

Thanks for getting in touch with is here today. In order to purchase a bank draft from Bank of Ireland you must hold an account within Bank of Ireland.

Op, do you know anyone you can trust in Ireland?

Send them the funds, and they can buy the draft.

Draft will be made out to the Department of Justice and they can drop it in or you can send them the paperwork and they can add the draft to it.
