Implication of Starting New Job While on a RPT?

I’ve just accepted a permanent non-teaching role. I explained that I cannot start until the end of the school year and my new employer is happy to wait, but I’m just wondering what happens in regards pay.

I’m only currently on half hours, so do I transfer my tax credits to the new role and hope I’m not crucified with tax? Or do I have to hand in my notice to the principal as my contract officially ends at the end of August?

If anyone has any clarity on this I’d really appreciate it! 😁

You can ring Revenue and ask them what would be the best way to manage your tax credits. They can split them between both jobs, i.e. any surplus credits can be transferred to your new job in a few weeks time until the end of the summer and then move the whole lot over.
