Psni stats updated, people in process down from 347 to 264 and appointable up from 192 to 245 and 553 out. I've my fitness very soon, can't wait to do it now, annoyed I had to reschedule it in first place.

I sent mine back in July, when did you send yours? They did contact me a couple of weeks ago to clarify a couple of points but that's it so far

is there any way you can check if your vetting has been checked?
Just got my medical results back today, all passed. So just waiting for vetting I guess now. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I was on join psni and it states not to contact them basically unless they contact you. People have hits on their credit reports but I haven't seen one as yet.

Around June I think it's being held up as I already have a clearance there's a few others that I know are in the same boat so no idea how much longer it will be

You were only a month before me then, how long ago roughly did you get the marker on your credit report?

    @Newbie05

I am currently studying / have longer term personal plans. If I apply to the current recruitment campaign and am successful and offered a space in training can I defer my start date?

You are welcome to apply to the current recruitment campaign when it is open. If you are successful through all stages of recruitment and are offered a place in training, Police Service of Northern Ireland is open to liaising with you and will consider all deferral requests. Deferral requests are considered on an individual basis. Deferral periods are granted on the understanding that they are only valid for as long as intakes from a given campaign would be active.

I imagine I'll be mid next year at earliest if all goes well in remaining stages. Just about to do pca as I had to push it back so hopefully have medical in December or jan and then just vetting to clear

    Well guys!

I see a few are the same boat of having everything else done bar the vetting being cleared. I just passed my medical a couple of weeks ago. I got my SMT result back quickly too. Hopefully the vetting isn't too far off and get the call soon. Hard to believe it'll be 3 years in march from the role-play assessment. It's been one long road! Haha

Best of luck to you all!

Hello all, first time poster, long time lurker!

I’m in the same boat; everything passed, just waiting on vetting.

Just wondering at this stage of the game, if you clear vetting are you “definitely” getting a job?

I remember from previous campaigns years ago that a merit list was only valid for a certain amount of time or until their quota is reached.

Would just be disappointing after waiting all these YEARS in this process for them to lift the draw-bridge now at the final hurdle! I hear there’s a December class, and January, both full. Do they keep going until everyone who is appointable is in? Or do they eventually draw a line under the 2021 campaign?

My merit number is ridiculously high so I never had much hope. But now that I’ve passed everything I’m quietly beginning to feel hopeful…

As far as I am aware, they will completely exhaust the merit list and with rumours of a new recruitment campaign they won't waste money scrapping this list with potential candidates.

Got a hit on my credit score this morning!!

I’m Merit 480-490. Vetting sent early April. Fitness test passed early July. SMT & medical passed early sept. Credit hit end Sept. Request for more info October and nothing since. A frustrating process!

I’m pretty high on the merit list however I completed my pca test and also got the green light for passing the medical a week ago - does anyone know what it shows up as on your credit file when they do the check ? Also does anyone know if during training you are allowed to take any days off as there is a wedding that I am involved in for one day but wasn’t sure if I would be able to as it’s during the week.

I am also in the same boat regarding the wedding situation and I would like to know as well 😂

Is normal to get your online learning within a couple of hours of passing your pca? Seems really quick, no complaining just curious

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 louarc123

it’s completely normal happened to me

does anyone know how we can check if we’ve had a hit on our vetting?

What services do you use? And what does it show up as?

I’m in the college at the minute, it’s really intense but I am enjoying it.
You can’t have any days off at all. You do get A/L but it’s timetabled. There’s been a few occasions where someone has an an emergency/sick and if you miss a class and the trainer can catch you up on then they will try their very best, but theres some lessons you just can’t miss.
If it’s a wedding you can’t miss you could defer your start date or you could ask when you get in if you could have the day off, but just be prepared that they could say no.
