PS5 controller not charging from wall after update.

Hey,

Updated my PS5 controller yesterday after getting the on screen prompt. Since then it will not charge when connected via my power brick (Samsung) and USB C cable. It will only charge when connected to the PS5. It was charging no problem on with the power brick before the update. Anyone have a similar issue? I assume it has something to do with the output of the power brick? Good job, Sony.

Plugging into a wall charger used to blow the PS4 controller battery if it was a fast charger (over 2 amps) it was connected to...

They don't tell people this for obvious reasons, battery just starts getting less and less of a charge each time...

It could be same case with the new controller...

Have you tried charging off the USB C socket in front?

Thanks for the info. Yeah it's a fast charger alright. It was working fine with it for months though up until I updated it. Yeah, it will only charge when connected to the PS5 now. Guess I'll have to look out for an extra long cable to charge and play at the same time.

It can be a pain alright, I used to use an old Samsung Galaxy charger and fried one of the old PS4 ones myself....

You can look for a battery online, but I have a feeling the new battery is same as old PS3 and PS4 one...

Replace the battery if you are handy :
