I have noticed cracks and stains on the ceiling recently (see pics attached)

its directly under a radiator in a bedroom upstairs.

would this generally be a straight forward for a plumber to fix?

how much should I expect to pay?

just ball park as it obviously depends on extent of leak.

any idea of the cost of getting a leak like this fixed?

If the leak is at the valve - suggested by the darkened wood around the value on the right - then that would be a quick fix which may take less than 30 mins to repair (perhaps even 10 or so), but will be charged as a full call-out. I'd expect that to be in the region of >EUR 100.

If the leak is in the floor then it will either need to be acessed by lifting the floor or cutting into the ceiling. That would obviously increase the complexity and you may need to employ a repair/handy-man to patch-up the holes.

Based on the picture it looks like qualpex pipe.

Check around the valve itself for a slow leak first.

If it's a leak from the valve try tighten it first.

Remember stain killer on the ceiling before repainting.

You will be hard pressed to find a plumber to call out to fix a leaky fitting. They are all flat out busy on sites and nonone will want to waste their time on a mickey mouse mom and pop leak repair job.

Your best bet is a handy man.
