Bad Plastering Job

Hi lads, I had my house renovated recently and the plastering is quite poor. A lot of rooms have bends in the corner, etc. I'm wondering how hard it will be for someone else to come in and fix it all. Typically can a good plasterer just plaster over a bad job, or will they have to remove all the bad plaster?

What an absolute dIsgrace to pay for a First Class Craftsperson and end up with Crap work from an unskilled Plonker.

You are worried about this, and you should rectify the problem, otherwise it will cause you continued annoyance.

Hopefully the poor plastering is not painted. If it is you could fit new slabs on the wall and re plaster same with a 3 mm hardwall skim, by an experienced Qualified Plasterer.

If I had to specify remedial works for this I would contact https://www.saint-gobain.ie/brands/gyproc and ask them to get their representative to call to your house and give advice as to what you can do.

You are dealing here with chemicals and you should get manufactures advice.

An experienced plasterer will be able to rectify it, try to get word of mouth recommendations rather than looking them up on social media or advertising etc, they'll know what actions to take for repairing it

Call the contractor to remedy the issue. Always best to withhold a portion of payment until completely happy so I hope that happened in this case at least.

The Builder should have been given instructions to remedy the issues and to to get rid of the handyman off the site at the time that he fecked up the first crap plastered wall - immediately it was completed.

It was incorrect to allow the expensive damage to continue.
