Home Insurance Policy if owner not living there but family member is..

I had been renting my house out and had landlords insurance on it. This year, a family member is staying there and there's no rent involved. I as an owner won't be present/living there. Can I just get an ordinary home insurance policy on this basis?

Only an opinion but I think you still need landlord type cover. Whether rent is payable or not is a moot point.

You would need to be living there yourself, as standard house insurance is dependent on owner occupancy.
