Worst customer service you have witnessed?

I was in a supermarket in the last year. A man in his 50's was buying painkillers and a bottle of whiskey, the young guy on the checkout said I hope you aren't going to do something bad with these? The man kind of laughed, this guy did actually look a bit down. Then at the end of the transaction the young guy said "don't go killing yourself now". I couldn't believe it, I hope he wasn't a mystery shopper. Unbelievable to say that to a customer but to say it in front of other customers, people sue for a lot less.

Hmm. I think i might have asked if he was ok myself, i mean i couldn't deny the sale but a brief question would be ok unless i am missing something in the interaction.

For context i was asked if i was ok in a different situation once and may indeed have saved me from something. No more detail than that needed i think.

The young guy wasn't trying to be a dick but I think it just came out really bad, I think he was actually concerned for the guy but made a mess of asking if he was ok.

This is why I prefer LIDL/ALDI, there's no comment and enquiry about every item you are buying.

To be on topic, i used to frequent a bar where the barman (gone now) was extremely well known for his attitude to customers, regular and visitors alike. It nearly became a selling point except he just wasn't good at being properly unpleasant

A customer complained about his breakfast (French toast I think), the waiter took it back, put the toast down his jocks and was rubbing them around (front and back), put it back on the plate and returned to the customer.

Edit: Actually that was from the film ‘Road Trip’. Sorry.

I had a similar situation. Used to be a fan of Genuine Hornet Scrumpy cider in my youth. I remember buying a 6 pack in the offie one night. The guy serving me picked it up and said "Puts a bee in your bonnet!". I looked at him confused. "Puts a beeeeee in your bonnet!" he repeated. I left, disgusted. It's not a bee, it's a hornet. Completely different creatures. And what if I was allergic to bee stings? I'm not, like, but still.

I was in Lidl on Saturday and it was discovered at the checkout that the drum of milk was leaking, the checkout lady summoned an African guy ( who must have been a new employee) to go fetch a replacement

She then behind his back proceeded to bad mouth him to me

" oh where has he gotten to ,he must be lost ' while rolling her eyes

Dissing a colleague is very bad form and the guy wasn't even long getting another milk
