Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That's genuinely dreadful from Aki.

He was poor defensively for two of Leinsters trys last week too.

    That’s the game.

In both legs Aki has coughed up very soft tries from poor/ weak tackling.

Aki playing two hand touch again. Another poor tackle by him leading to a try.

Leinster have got away with a couple over both legs.

Very poor defence there from Connacht. There's an inevitability about this now.

Leinster's first try was a thing of beauty. Great hands and running from Murphy and Moloney too.

edit: agree on the jerseys. I'm colour blind and it does make it quite difficult to watch at times.

There's the driving maul. Just made a full 5 metres and pushed the defensive line back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

What's great about Hansen is that not only is he an incredibly gifted player, but he's also a relatively normal looking fella. He doesn't look overly bulky like a lot of back three players do.

He's a bloke who looks like he does some weights three days a week.

Is it just me or does Porter look like he’s lost a few kgs? Great to see him back!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Molony with a heinous act of thuggery there coming in from the side.

    Stone the crows!

    Penalty for side entry!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    2 x side entry!

    behave yourself Luke!

Henshaw was never on the ball there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

It's a cliche at this stage, but VDF really has become a brilliant carrier.

He just made metres beyond the gainline with two Connacht players hanging out of him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,905 ✭✭✭yosser hughes

He's been excellent again! one of the best around right now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Big difference between Connacht and Leinster shown there. Leinster today are just so clinical in the 22. We've scored 3 trys from 4 visits . Connacht knocked on under the posts and Carty failed to make his 3 point kick in their previous visit.

How was that Hansen hit on J.O'B not picked up?

    He should be off

Josh Murphy is having a seriously good half so far. Making lots of good carries and offloading well. He isn't even playing in his preferred position!

Connacht are getting a seriously good player.

    That's a red for Aki.

He caught Sexton late and in the head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Stadium is dead. More dead than the Aviva is usually, I mean. KO time has to have an effect, but the scoreline probably doesn't help.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    That's red card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Aki is very, very lucky.

He headbutted Sexton and I disagree that there's just a low amount of danger.

Bundee is never going to learn, is he?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    It's definitely a red unfortunately.

    Penalty at worst, yellow maybe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Can't believe it was only a yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Aki has been a huge disappointment in both games. Three big defensive errors and now that yellow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,151 ✭✭✭✭JRant

I don't think that's a red at all. Looked like the force of the tackle forced Johnny's head forward and then back.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Exactly this for me. It's absolutely shocking tackling technique and his head doesn't go near Sexton's if he tackles with his inside shoulder like he should be!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,151 ✭✭✭✭JRant

Pendergast with an outrageous side entry no arm clear out right in front of Luke and nothing said.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,816 ✭✭✭✭bilston

    Red card central Bundee

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Ok with just a yellow, but f*ck me was he asking for trouble there. Safe to say this hasn't been Aki's finest game after those defensive errors earlier.

    Lucky boy

Looks like the ref didn't want to give a red, a few weeks ago that's 100% a red. Too many one sided games after a red any maybe coming under pressure to rethink

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭TRC10

If Leinster want to, they could put up an absolute cricket score here.

This could get ugly for Connacht.

  • Registered Users Posts: 760 ✭✭✭Zeugnis

I'd like to see Marmion and Fitzgerald on for Blade and TOH. Confused also why connacht aren't attacking the lineout more, feel we miss Murray in that respect. I'm still not persuaded by Fifita and Thornbury looks like he's still rusty from his time out injured. Realistically, however, this is the high-end Leinster, fully loaded bar the second row, any team would have difficulty living with them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 265 ✭✭Strand1970

Wonder will friend be under pressure at the end of the season. Connacht are rudderless for months. Don't have an option either way. First time for years as a connacht fan I couldn't care less about this team.

  • Registered Users Posts: 760 ✭✭✭Zeugnis

Unfortunately this is not the first season that Bundee has made a bigger contribution to Ireland than to Connacht. Two yellows last year..

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,151 ✭✭✭✭JRant

It seems they are starting at the lower end of the offense now and looking for reasons to increase the sanction rather than starting at the higher end and working down.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Id imagine Aki will still be on the tour to NZ but he’s having a dip in form over the last few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Connacht have been fast up in defence, but Leinster have utterly killed them in the post contact moments. They're staying upright, keeping their feet and powering through the tackle.

    Denis Buckley on.

Probably the right move as Connacht were getting a pumping in the scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Jaysus. I think Kelleher has made 3 clean break this game? He's a prodigious talent.

Another great try. Won the contact, got over the gain line, drew defenders and out players through the holes which opened up.

Little fight back required. No probs. Wait for it

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    Bealham ouch

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,151 ✭✭✭✭JRant

Can you get a red card for knocking yourself out off your own player head?

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Hopefully Leinster keep the foot on the throat after that score.

I'd be looking at a yellow for Aungier there.

Filthy off the ball tackle with no arms.

I actually think that's a red. Pearse is wrong with his low danger talk. VDF didn't have the ball and it was a no arms hit to the face.

    Pure scumbag play

    yellow

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

A prop running shoulder first into a players head is low danger?
