What's a normal number?

Anyway, I was chatting to one of the lads recently, over a few pints, and we started chatting about sex.

He claims that he has slept with over 50 women, he's early 30's now.

I don't believe him, neither do any of the other group, we've known him for years and have never even seen him with a woman before, not even on a night out.

My number is not so high when it comes to getting women in bed, I'm also early 30's.

I often hear people talking about a wild few years in college when it's easier to get numerous women, I never had a period of my life where I would have considered myself wild, I had the occasional night here and there, but nothing even close to higher numbers.

What is considered a normal number? For a guy anyway.....

OP only sleeping with a small number of women by your early 30's is only something to be slightly ashamed about. I'm sure in time you'll overcome you inadequacy and get better with women.

Society and friends will only judge you somewhat on your failures

Late thirties in age and i'd say late twenties/earlies thirties in women.

This is me too. But my number has only increased by 1 person since I was 28, the woman I'm now married to.

OP, you mentioned a 'wild few years in college', I didn't have that, I'd slept with maybe 4 women by the time I was 22. Went out with a girl for a couple of years, she broke up with me. I'd a wild two years then getting under as many women as I could to help me get over her in mid 20s.

That right blend of being in better shape, being in a social circle at the time with a lot of women, friends of housemates, etc etc, going with the flow on drink culture all equalled regular sex.

3 relationships, 1 paid for her time and whatever the remaining number is were one night stands and casual hook ups where we would sleep together but bump into each other regularly and repeat.

I know some of my friends reached and exceeded my number by age of 20

I'm more or less similar, I thought that number was relatively high, but chatting to some others, it's not that high. But sometimes you never know if some people are lying and inflating their number to boost their ego

I'm in my late 30s and my number is 7.

3 of them since 2005 as I've basically been in relationships since then. I've been with my wife for nearly 13 years now so I don't expect the number to change.

50 partners for a person in their 30's, while not average maybe, is completely credible. If someone's going out regularly and is interested in hook-ups, it makes sense.

From 20 to 30, 50 partners is 5 per year. Hardly earth shattering. So if someone's in their mid 30's, it's more like 16 - 35 you're talking about, basically twenty years.

Some people also have quite a lot of relationships. I'm in my 30's and I've had about 9 girlfriends for example. I really could not care less if my partner had 2 previous partners or 200.

30 years old and 3 women. Would be a lot more if it wasn't for my weak jawline and massive nose. (And wearing my insecurities on my sleeve)

My friend has has been with about 30-40 women, but he looks like Ronaldo.

Who cares? If it’s consensual, safe sex is practised and no one is hurt, then it could be hundreds.

i have a gay friend in his 40s and it’s well in excess of 200 (in his words), have another friend who is a total babe magnet (although he has settled down) who is at a similar level.

Personally, I am the ugly friend, hence much much much less…😀
