small speaker placement problem

In my man cave I have my desk facing against a wall - Could I put small stereo speakers left and right they would have to be tight against the wall as well - was thinking of Wharfedale Diamond 9.0's or CAMBRIDGE AUDIO MINX MIN12's - could I put the speakers behind me but then they would be the wrong way round normal left would be the right one - is there any other options- I was hoping to use a echo dot and a cd player as sources into an old Kenwood stereo amp TIA

Thanks for the post!

You can get brackets specifically for the Cambridge Min speakers which hold them quite close to the wall. As they're not rear ported you can put them very close to the wall without affecting the sound too much from them. You can also put them behind you but for the stereo soundstage you would be best having them in front of your listening position!

Do you keep the brackets as well? What's the sound like for such small speakers? What type of speaker cable would you recommend?

Thanks for getting back to me. The Cambridge sound good for a small speaker but if you're looking for a pair of speakers that are compact and give a fantastic sound I would recommend the Monitor Audio Radius 90:

Hi Beaker_2010.

The Wharfedale 9.0 are fantastic little speakers for their price.

They are front ported so placing them close to a wall will not matter that much. Rear ported speakers, you would have had to keep them out from the wall to avoid them becoming boomy.
