Chargeback - VISA Card Closed

Good Morning,

I am looking for some general information.

I had a Credit Card with Bank of Ireland and the card was closed however we paid an amount to

Alpha Holidays Ltd through it and after all this time they are now saying we have to do a chargeback to recover

the monies paid to Alpha Holidays Ltd.

Is there a way of recovering the money even though the visa card is no longer active?

It is over €1,000 we are due back.

Any assistance would be appreciated

Hi Jen,

As I no longer have the VISA Card is this still possible?

Two payments were made to Alpha Holidays back in 2019 but as they refused to refund and offered only

a credit to be used at anytime there has been a huge delay.

Now since Dec'21 they have gone into liquidation.

Very messy scenario but does the bank recognize that we could not do a charge back up until they

advised us now that's the approach we need to take?

Is there a number I can call to discuss with BOI?
