As an audit trainee how many hours per week have you been working during busy season and what level trainee are you?

In my day, 10 - 12 hours per day up to manager level. But these were very big audits with teams of say 20 - 30 juniors.

Can depend entirely on the firm and the jobs you get assigned. Worst case is probably getting put on a large listed company audit with tight group reporting deadlines you could be doing 12 hour days and possibly weekends for a couple of weeks in Jan. But there are only so many of those jobs and you do get time in lieu. Even within busy season, weekend work is generally not usual and while there are sometimes long days 8-6 mentioned above would probably be a good average. Outside of busy season depending on staffing levels you could be quiet or even seconded working standard 9-5ish. Some people make it through a whole contract without doing any real crazy hours but no one can promise it's not going to happen to you.
