Bookmark button broken?

I made the mistake of posting in the Mayo gaa discussion thread back in September. Now every few seconds I have a wall of notifications up my screen of new posts in this thread that I have no interest in. Unselecting the bookmark option does nothing.

How do I unsubscribe from a thread so it is removed from my followed threads and I don't get notifications?

(Also I like the notification pop ups but they are too intrusive on the screen, I literally can't see what I'm typing right now!. I'm on desktop)

I like getting notifications though for the threads that I like. But I suppose I could turn the feature off until the bookmark button gets fixed.

I don't think you read the settings correctly. The bookmarks button isn't broken, it's doing what it's supposed to.

Turn off "Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in". Turn on "Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions"

Ah, apologies. I did in fact misinterpret the settings and have disabled it now. Thanks.

Love the dark enhancement extension by the way. I have this installed and it works a treat so it does.
