Satellite dish removal

We inherited a satellite dish on the gable end of our house when we moved in a couple of years ago. Its for SKY I presume which we don't have. I would like to remove it as its a bit unsightly. I am confident to be able to remove it, my question is can I just cut the cables? The next time I have a sparks into the house I will get him to remove the rest of the cabling.

    Any advice appreciated.

why not keep it as an option?

yiu can pickup a sat box like FreeSat and receive lots of channels for free

Is it an old sky dish?

If the cable is the double-coax that Sky use now I'd leave the cable in place in case you ever decide to use it, but take down the dish itself if you don't like the look of it.
