Found some old coins ranging from 1901 up to 2002 while rummaging.
Just curious,how far back do you remember them? 😁

Ah that's where that came from.
Couldn't figure out where that came from and still can't remember them.
I remember the Liam Brady Texaco footballs alright which were earlier.

What was the story with the Esso world cup coins?

1928 was the first year Irish money was made. The coins had an animal / bird theme. Farthing woodcock, halfpenny pig, penny hen with chickens, threepence hare, sixpence greyhound, shilling bull, two shillings (florin) salmon, half crown horse. The woodcock appeared again on the decimal fifty pence.
Your threepence and sixpence appear to be possibly "silver" from pre 1942 (not sure of that date). Those silver coins and British ones pre 1947? have a lot more silver content that later versions, and are worth more melted down. Back in the 1960's bank clerks took a lot of those out of circulation and sold them at a profit.

Just had a flashback of using those really old big pennys instead of pounds in cigarette machine when I was a kid in the 80's.
For some reason I acquired several jars full of them 😁
If I recall correctly anyway 🤔

Irish penny's are 1937,1965 and 1968.
The 3 pence is 1963 and the 6p is 1928 so that would be from the first year of Irish coins.

The English penny's are 1901,1917 and 1934.

I remember being able to buy a packet of crisps with a 10p coin. A pound could buy you loads of stuff.

Born around 1980 so??
I was born in 72 and remember a bag of tayto was 4p.
A bag of Totem was 2p.
A small plastic bottle of orange 10p and a large (750ml) glass bottle of Deasy's orange was 15p.

Had a 1917 (or something like that) Farthing and either a 3 or 6 pence that i annoyingly can't find now.
Not worth anything really i believe but just nice to have.

Lightest and most worthless feeling coin I had was an Ost Pfennig from the DDR. Aluminium. 0.75g
