I'm a 62 year old reasonably fit woman and am not overweight, normally around 9.7 and I'm 5ft 7in tall. I've just started liftweigts when exercising over the last few weeks 2kg and somehow I've gone up to 9st 12lbs. I would exercise for about 20 mins every day.

Just saw this. Female also and when started lifting gained a few kgs rapidly. It's water and glycogen in muscle so it's a good thing. I broke my wrist after a year of lifting and couldn't lift anymore and lost about 3kg of water weight quickly when wasn't lifting.
