What mart this time of the year is best value for buying calves Hereford Angus etc. One of the west Cork marts?

I'd say skibbereen would be the best. Calf quality seems to be better there too for some reason

Abbeyfeale for flour and meal, Rathkeale for Tinker's donkeys.

Depends on Auctioneer.... Same guy sells in Skibb and Macroom but diff guy in Bandon. Strong dairy influence in Bandon, lesser in macroom and lesser again in skibb.

So may get cheaper calf in Bandon but will probably get better q calf in skibb.
