Can I ask what the criteria are for closing discussions on this section?

Ten of Swords in particular closes threads, whenever a serious topic is brought, and he uses random nonsense to close the thread.... something about George Clooney?

Threads normally get closed if the thread gets contentious, ends up circling back and forth, ends up discussing things we can't talk about (ongoing legal proceedings, traveller crime, trans stuff among many others) or probably most controversially topics that need a lot of moderation (ties in with the previous point).

Rarely is a thread closed because the moderator doesn't agree with the topic. Posters are normally banned to achieve the party line instead.

Op if you have an issue with moderation you need to take it up in the help desk forum. Opening a thread to complain about moderation anywhere else is going to get you sanctioned.
