Noisy tappets.

Hey all! Hope ye are keeping well..

I notice the Civic (1.4 I-DSI) sounds fairly noisy the last 7 months with loud tappets on a cold start. When it heats up to normal temp, the noise really improves, goes completely nearly.

Should I be concerned about the loud tappets on a cold start? (I get that I am only looking into this now after 7 months..😂)

I am using 5w30 oil at the moment. At the next service, I think I will change to 0w30 and see if that helps on a cold start.

Failing that! I have also been advised to get the valves adjusted, as this appears to solve the issue (On the 1.8 FN2 engine anyway) from what I am told. Can anyone please advise me on this?

    Thanks in advance.
