First Watch

Hi I'm looking to buy my first watch and for less than €500.

Since I've started doing some reading on them its become apparent that I haven't a clue about watches and there are so many things to consider.

I like the idea of an mechanical watch, would like new, and have picked out these so far as options,

Steinhart Pilot Watch

I also like the Tissot watches but for this price they are all very plain. Am I wrong to rule out the Quartz watches. Thanks in advance for any advice

For around €500 I would definitely be looking to get an automatic watch, there are loads of great options within that price range.

It sounds like you want a field/pilot watch, what size is your wrist? That will help with recommendations

I'd say its average 7 inches or so.

For me, I would be looking at Steinhart. You would be doing very well to get a watch with better specs than what they offer at each price point.

Seiko's are where most of us started! Steinharts are a good call too, lack some brand recognition to the non watch enthusiasts but for value for money they are hard bet.
