Fuel price rises - Effects on Irish Public Transport

    As Ukraine is currently defending itself against Putin's Russian Forces for the past week in this illegitimate war. Stock markets around the world have reacted with a lot of worry & anxiety over the impact this war is having impact on prices of oil, diesel and petrol.

    This thread is discussing the effects of these massive price increases on fuel that is hitting both Public & Private operators based here like Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann, Go-Ahead Ireland, Irish Rail & and many others.

    We have understood that the Taoiseach has been meeting various Government ministers including Eamon Ryan to discuss the implications of the war in Ukraine before the weekend.

    Do we any information so far about how the PT operators are going to cope with the increases in fuel prices within their depot's operations around the country. How much money do the operators actually need to pay for these large increases in fuel prices while this war is ongoing in Ukraine.

    I'm very worried that these increases in fuel prices are going to affect their functionality as a public service and as a business going forward into the future.

    How have the private transport companies based here responded to these massive rises in fuel costs. Are they going to feel the effects in a much worse position when they effectively run as commercial businesses.
