The gas water heater in the shed that we use for washing and warm water for calf milk has packed up and needs replaced.
We had something similar to this:
Am I missing something or are they now very dear at ~£150 on eBay and Amazon?
What are you all using?
Anyone use the mains electricity ones like this:
Forget about the electrical one, just forget about it.
Replace your gas one, as for price everything is gone north.
Sounds like the voice of experience...?
I’ve wore the shirt.
Is that running off a tank or a cylinder of gas?
I'd imagine it'd be very slow, I see it's only 1kw.
WE'VE a 9kw one here, just fitted between the hose and the tap, works quite well, cost €94. it's alright for washing up, mixing bottles, we have it in th lambing shed
Cointra is a good make for these, but they are more expensive again
We use a yellow cylinder of gas. Usually lasts most of the season.
I have an 8L one of those. It worked great for me most of the time. Now I was only heating water for 6 calves. If it's a cold morning the water is very slow to heat up. I had to slow the water goin into the heater so it heated it better. Then my uncle called one morning he is a plumber. He added a brass joint just before the water enters the bottom of the heater so I got a gas torch and heated the joint while the water was on. Preheating the water sped up the process.
