Unlocking a new 3 network phone

hi there, not sure if his is the right forum for this. My brother has a new Samsung Galaxy s21 that he doesn't want. It's locked to the 3 network and I'm with Vodafone. Is it possible to get this unlocked? How would I go about it? When I go to the 3 website, it asks me for my 3 mobile number in the Unlock phone section.

You can take it into any mobile phone repair/mobile accessories shop and they can unlock it for about 10-15€! If you're in Dublin I recommend phone wizz on Moore street, had multiple phones over the years unlocked there.

Hi, is the phone in contract 🤔 or was it purchased on prepay with 3.

If it was a contract phone and 9 bills have been paid (Minimum Term), your brother (bill payer) can request an unlock code , 3 will only process request from bill payer. If 9th bill has not been reached or there's any issues with the account or its been blocked , 3 won't process unlock request.

Prepay. Customer has to have spent €130 in credit (not including promotional credit) before 3 will process an unlock request and again, only for registered owner.

Just remember your brothers account details details required or he'll have to request code.

Others may advise go to an unlocking service, I don't.
