Hopefully she makes a speedy recovery. Politics aside I would never wish it on anyone, especially a frail elderly woman.

I wish her well but every time I hear about the British monarchy I can't help thinking what century am I in?

You'd think the whole idea of Kings, Queens, Lords and subjects and being reigned upon as of birth right was a bit antiquated.

They have it in so called “progressive” countries too. The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark still have royalty.

I don’t know if they still have the same level or birthright hierarchy though with Lards, Ladles and so on though.

I think he is a scumbag Hands down. I'm glad he is paying the girl the settlement. However It's worth remembering that the legal age of consent in the UK is 16. The offense didn't happen the UK & at 17 she was under the US age of consent of 18. I wouldn't call him a rapist. Dirtbag, scumbag but not a rapist

Russia can start poking the bear and Johnson, desperate to distract from his sh1tshow, recover his reputation and seeking to capitalise on the country's nationalistic mood will be eager to dive into a war if one is on offer.

I quite like the Queen, she will definitely be a massive loss to the UK when she goes. She is certainly looking frailer these days. 70 years on the throne is an incredibly long time. She will be a tough act to follow for Charles or William.

The pomp and ceremony of her funeral might be the last hurrah of the British monarchy. I don't think Charles or William will ever have the same respect the queen enjoyed and the world has changed so much since her reign began.

All the scandals over the years, and particularly the Andrew fiasco, have removed the veneer of the royals being different from the rest of society. It's like a dramatic soap on steroids.
