Hoping for a opinion on this question!

Will be needing to rent a car on holiday. The suzuki jimny is one that looks suitable. Everyone in the house likes the look of it! But on one site it says suitable for 2 adults or a family with small children. We have 2 teens, not much luggage and will be doing at most a 3 hour drive.

    Wondering if we're mad?

They are fantastic vehicles, I had two from New. More than enough room for two and 2 teens. The Boot space is not enormous but adequate for say day trips etc.

They are both 2 & 4 wheel drive and excellent on rough terrain.

The seating positions are also higher than a standard car and finally very economically on fuel.

Only one negative, dependent on road surface They can be bumpy enough .

I'm guessing the model may be convertible and if it is, even more fun.

    Enjoy 😉

Ye if you push the rear seats the whole back that if they move and front ones as forward as you can am sure you might squeeze two more teens in there.

It's really only a two seater unless your teens are very small say 4ft or something like that. If they are 6foot or near it forget it unless ye are both small.

I think the Jimny is too small, even if you only have hand luggage, 4 adults and luggage is too much

I love the Jimny. I have mine already booked for holidays in September. Its too small for 4. Even toddlers.

You're on your hols, you don't wanna be folding 4 people into a 2 doored tight space. Either dump the kids and enjoy the Jimny or bring the kids and get something more comfortable for 4.

You'd save a few quid too as they're generally more expensive but you won't get the enjoyment out of a Jimny with 4 people in it.

What country are you going to OP?

Think they’re only sold new as a 2 seater commercial due to emissions tax reasons?

I followed one recently. It was a 201 model and pulled in beside her and got chatting. That sounds mad I know! But thankfully she pulled into Marathon and, hey I can get something in there. Hers wasn't commercial but was brought into Ireland from England 2nd hand (18k/km on the clock) by a dealer especially for her. Could've been Bradys in Meath but not 100%.

I didn't ask price etc. as... Well I had been nosey enough by that stage. I might have a photo knocking about. Silver with black siding.

The new model fantastic looking , I believe there is some emissions issues and they are not listed for sale or available in Ireland by Suzuki. I've seen a few dealers sell them individually but as rare as hens teeth I hear.

Costa Rica…..hopefully! Liked the jimmy because it’s a bit different, but sounds a bit small☹️

The reason I ask is that it's great for small towns. Cretan/Greek towns for example.

Fun, funky and very cool... but I'd give it a miss. Can you leave the teens at home by any chance? I'd put the Jimny before them if I were you.

You would be better in a Vitara or a Subura of some kind maybe an XV if ye can get one or a Forester.

It’s nothing serious, just the Co2 figures are a bit on the high side, which totally messes up Suzukis collective figure, which for the number they’ll actually sell isn’t worth it.

I heard something about it but wasn't entirely sure , thanks for clarification 😏

Just out of curiosity OP, but isn't Costa Rica (central America) one of these Carbon Neutral countries? I'm surprised they allow the Jimny over there.

Was one of the options from several companies. We'll have a look for something bigger.
