A question of taste

I like fruit Pastilles and have, on occasion, offered to share mine with others.

Typically people will express a preference, or avoidance, for a particular colour, or flavour.

My taste buds cant tell a f**king difference between them, they are all the same to me.

Is there actually any difference in taste between the colours or Fruit Pastilles, MnMs, Jelly Babies, Love Hearts, etc

OP yes, there is a difference in taste between the different colours of fruit pastilles, fruit gums, Skittles, Starbust etc. M&Ms no, certainly not that I've ever been able to discern. Weirdly, Smarties all also taste the same, except for the orange ones, which are orange flavoured.

The general rule of thumb for jelly/chewy sweets is:

Yellow - lemon

Green - lime

Orange - orange

White - pineapple

Red - strawberry

Black/purple - blackcurrant

I always go for the lime ones. There is a different taste of them imo but I remember someone telling me about a blind tasting done on beer. If the texture of different pints are the same , you really can't tell the difference. Even between guinness and larger

Good one, I always thought the white ones were meant to taste like pear, I didn’t like them because they didn’t taste like pear! 😳
