Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hansen catches them napping - class!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

That could be a crucial score there, maybe whats needed to help stem the momentum from France.

    😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

    And Carbery sinks the conversion!

Only other instance of that sort of try that I've seen is Nacewa Vs Ospreys like 10 years ago.

Great try from Hansen. I've never seen the likes before, a clean take and unopposed try by the team taking the restart.

Carbery has no interest in tackling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Looks like Carbery is defending out on the wing rather than centrally.

Not impressed by JGP so far, making some poor choices and throwing some poor passes

    Pulsating match though!

    Some ridiculous passing, hospital passes.

Will be amazed if no intercepted pass results in a try here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

Probably not bad for France that they knocked on as if Williemse caught that it probably would be a penalty for obstruction.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,140 ✭✭✭fitz

I don't understand why Kelleher got pinged for there, was he not brought back onside by the chaser?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

France are doing a number on our ruck ball. That's our main point of difference from every other side we've beaten over the last year. Slow that down and we're in trouble.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,293 ✭✭✭All_in_Flynn

Need to get a grip here. We are not up to the pace of the match here up front.

Ireland not getting anything from the ref as yet.

thats the level of refereeing, Jesus h

Getting no luck here on the calls so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,542 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

If Mack Hansen can do more great steals like that later on in the game. We should be in a great position to score big tries. His attitude is the right one to have because he has the ability to catch France out when it is not warranted. However if more players contribute to that mindset out in Paris today. We should be able to cope with the pressure & keep control of the game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

Dont want to sound like a whinge but Angus Gardner just screams homer so far, seems to be giving France the benefit of doubt in most cases.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Carbery has 100% carried an injury into this game btw. Strapping on his elbow and has already been looked at by the physios.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,147 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

And he just did another clueless, aimless kick when we had the benefit of the advantage.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,140 ✭✭✭fitz

How was that not a penalty at that ruck??!

  • Registered Users Posts: 762 ✭✭✭starkid

he keeps taking Ryan out in air ffs. shocking ref

How's that not a penalty for not rolling away? That looked more of a pen than the one we got afew minutes ago?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,569 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

Ref letting France lay all over the ball at every ruck

Gardner has decided France are the better team and will win. Shocking reffing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,159 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

The amount of balls being dropped by the Irish team is actually embarrassing for a pro team. Ruins the whole preparation and game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,823 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

He’s been ominously dreadful, a total homer, missed so much only 20 in…quick to penalise us though..we not going to beat 16.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

Its what he did versus Japan in the RWC so no surprises there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,569 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

Porter not getting away with his poor scrimmaging this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Why did the referee warn the French 4 at the lineout but not penalise him? He clearly spotted something illegal.

    Another handling error.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,383 ✭✭✭Higgins5473

Ah yes, the Irish rugby hype machine is going the way it usually does. So let’s blame the ref.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,706 ✭✭✭clsmooth

France really pushing the offside line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,536 ✭✭✭touts

He is fast replacing Barnes as the worst Ref Ireland can draw.

At some point the IRFU have to start to object to some of these ref selections of for no other reason than to protect the players.

It didn’t take long, 25 mins in and seagulls appearing in the thread already

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,223 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

France have utterly ripped into us with their physicality. Fair play to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,542 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Ireland's ball retention is not great TBF when they giving away turnovers. It's very sloppy at the moment. I wonder why that is happening right now. Is Ireland slowly getting into the nerves & intimidation while playing out in Paris.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

We desperately need to stay within one score here, we look very nervous and I worry what will happen if France were to get 2 scores ahead.

  • Registered Users Posts: 762 ✭✭✭starkid

so i think its fair to say our system IS utterly reliant on Sexton. thus we're goosed come the World Cup

    Very loose today.

    kicking it away
