A little piece of trivia, Neil, the Baby was on 'The Voice' last year as a contestant! And was selected by 3 of the coaches to progress. Not sure how far he got though as we don't watch it...😀

We (or to be genuine, I) watch both Christmas specials every year in the build up to Christmas, love both of them.

Last year the night my Mrs was at her work Christmas party, myself & the kids watched The polar express and after that they went to bed & i watched both specials back to back... I still get a laugh out of them every time.

Ruth Jones was on Radio One this morning. She obviously denied the Gavin and Stacey rumours, but I don't think she sounded all too convincing. Time will tell...

She also mentioned about Neil, The Baby being on The Voice!

I remember the last time the 2019 Christmas special was announced it was 'leaked' online a few days before any official announcement & it was strongly denied by Jones & Corden at the time. Lo & Behold a few days later I was sat in my car, early to a site meeting and browsing through twitter when I saw the official announcement & nearly burst with excitement.

In saying that, there's been a few premature announcements of a new special that were also denied & clearly came to nothing so wouldn't be surprised if it was all nonsense, hope not though as this one seemed to have a bit more to it than earlier ones!

There's a weird Christmas film right now on ITV2 called Superstore. It's like a Hallmark film but it's trying to be a comedy.

Actually forget what I just wrote, looked up Superstore and apparently it's a comedy series? 😅 Never heard of it before. It seems I stumbled over a Christmas episode.

That was my hope too, & I thought Ruth Jones being interviewed was a timely placement to deny it (as happened in 2019) before a later announcement, but alas I think this was a coincidence & its all just rumours & speculation, for now anyway!

Finally getting a chance to start watching the current serious true detective, first episode was odd to say the least.

Ruth Jones is in Sister Act the musical but is set to miss the entire month of May.

The last Christmas special was filmed in May that year too.

Apparently they want to keep the filming a secret to avoid,leaks,spoilers as the public know where they film, given the popularity of the show.

All rumours but isn't it exciting to be thinking it could happen haha.

With James Corden back in the UK I can see a special happening sooner rather than later.

I really hope we have a Gavin & Stacey special this year 🤞🏻.

Was only thinking the other day my child is only one now, by the time she could probably appreciate something like Gavin & Stacey she would be about 15 maybe? I dunno? But anyway that would mean G & S would have first aired 30 yrs before then. Nuts to think of and I wonder would she even care about a program that old.

One of the bad things about waiting until I was 38 to have a child is this worry that I will be so old and outdated with everything I like towards her.

I've caught bits of each series/episodes loads of times on the the re-runs on W/Gold/Dave now, but there is something about the 2 Christmas specials that require me to plan a night to sit down & watch them. I generally leave them until the build up now though as they're a treat for me in the run up to Christmas.

Have you seen the behind the scenes documentary on that special?

It’s called the 12 days of Gavin and Stacey and it’s on the dvd extras and UKGold replay it from time to time.

As soon as mick stopped playing the piano they called cut and most of the cast burst into tears as at the time they weren’t sure they’d ever see each other again. I remember watching it and getting misty eyed watching that clip as they just seems to love working together.

Any fans of GBBO, the SU2C specials start back on Sunday 17th March on Channel 4.

Will definitely be watching these, love bake off. Next time we see the tent after these will be the normal season in September when we're into double digits on the countdown. Always a solid stepping stone on the build up to Christmas.

I think this time around there were too many clues, especially with Ruth Jones booking time off from her play exactly when filming would need to start. The stuff on Imdb too and the different sources were aplenty. Last time it was completely out of the blue and a real surprise, but that cliff hanger meant a finale was always going to be as a possibility.

I for one can't wait!

Have to say, all the stuff on social media since they made the announcement has been fantastic. Great to see the levels of excitement out there. Fingers crossed they close it out well.

Yes, I really hope it's a strong ending. When a show ends badly, has a really poor quality comeback years later (Only Fools and Horses and Arrested Development, I'm looking at you) or nosedives in the later years (like 95% of American shows) it spoils the whole thing for me.

agree. always said they should have left OFAH alone with them becoming millionaires. The specials after they lost it all were a drop in standard IMO and whilst they didn't ruin the entire show for me did tarnish it just a little.

I've loved G&S from the start & would hate to see the ending not be a high point.
