Worked my rear off to buy a house by myself. Then I met a partner who did the same. Now that we've moved in together, we have suddenly found ourselves to be landlords of the house I bought. I have a friend living in one room there; she lived with me for the last year. To cover the mortgage I need to rent a second room.…

No. People on here before have tried that and had no luck. And the councils are way behind on inspections thanks to the pandemic so don’t see them changing that policy anytime soon. You could always call you local council and ask though

It's not a certification or pre clearance process. Most of the stuff is online regarding what you need to do to meet the standard, being mindful they are the same standards as renting to anyone.
