Wood Pellet Stove Issue

Hi, not sure if anyone can help but here goes. Our wood pellet stove never reaches its target temperature and because of this is constantly burning loudly at full blaze. If we set the temp at 21 for example, it doesn't seem to go any higher than 19. A family member has the very same stove but if they set their stove to 21, it goes up to 21 and the flames calm down and the stove burns quietly. We're also burning twice as many pellets because of this. Any help much appreciated.

Thermostat is most likely damaged making the pellet stove think it’s only 19 degrees.. Is the room warm enough for you?

Got stuck with one due to landlord. I would not advise anyone to buy one over a solid fuel/gas/oil stove or boiler.

Fupp global warming, There is no point being miserable and cold over a wet cold winter.

To anyone buying, the pellet stove never heats as it says it does. Its made of pressed steel rather than cast iron. That mean 15 minutes after it gets turned off, it goes stone cold. The cast iron stove will remain warm until the morning, if managed right.

So true.....mrs Mc Carthy & I installed one a decade ago....nightmare......waste of money......never a success in any shape or form.....wasnt economical either.

As regards the OP's query.....as another poster said....its most likely a failed thermostat.....an easy fix that comes in around €18

Forgot to mention that our pellet stove was Three times as expensive as the Stanley Oisin (or any similar 5Kw stove).

Not a job to be afraid of Pauline.....very manageable for anyone with rudimentary DIY ability.....put the model number & 'thermostat' into search & you should spruce handy enough......circa €18 delivered........going by your symptoms I'd be fairly certain the thermostat has 'run it's race' .....depending on usage these thermostats have a life expectancy from 5-10yrs
