Looking for advice....Buy a full tank of agri diesel now or keep at the 5 Gallon drums?

Cost of a 100Litres is around €950 as at 8th Feb 2022....I know its brutal.

But will it go back down a bit ? Who knows. If Putin invades it might go up more, who knows. If OPEC meet and decide to drive down the price again like last year to gain market share (I think thats what happened). Is that very unlikely now?

Any thoughts. Thanks

Whatever drop comes will pale in comparison with the drop when going for paying for bulk rather than paying at the pump

Keep at the drums long enough & you'll be introducing dirt over time into the system which will also cost money. Ya just can't win.

95 euro - not 950 for 100 litres. Still bad I know.

I am lucky enough to have a drum pump. I have two 200L drums. I usually buy 500L in May. It keeps me going for the year. Lorry cones in fills the Tractors and then the rest of the 500 goes in the drums. You just pull the tractor near the drum and the pump will fill it in 2-3 minutes

What exactally is a drum pump like can it suck the diesel up?

I came across this at work years ago.. they had been bought years previously but they were unsuitable for what they wanted them for. Like in all big organisations when there was a mistake made they were just left there. I was told they were there 10+ years still perfect in a box. Myself and another lad approached a manager to buy them and they were sold to us as if second hand.

However the one I have is 110 volt. Ya they are designed to transfer oil and diesel. You can get manual ones as well. They are a great job for pumping diesel rather than horsing 5 gallon drums.
