Someone living in my Home

Iam living with my wife in a rented property. Iam not in a good relation with my wifes family.So I dont like any of her family members to be in my home.My wife is trying to bring her brother to my house next month. Wifes brother is living with his wife and they have a small accomodation.In this case what can i Do.I dont want my wifes brother in my home. I know I cant do anything but any advice is appreciated

Why does she want her brother to come and live in your house if he has his own accomodation. Is he bringing his wife too?

Just tell your wife an outright no and that you do not want to share your home with anyone other than your wife ( and kids if you have any).

They are living in a one bedroom house which is very small and she feels he is struggling to live there.No wifes brothers wife is working near to that place So she wouldnt come over

I'm somewhat perplexed by this, I'd understand if there was a marriage difficulty, temporary arrangement (House move) etc but it seems a very odd thing that space is an issue in the wife's brothers house 🤔

If it were me, I'd of course be sensitive if there was a personal crisis regarding the wife's brothers, I'd very reluctantly agree to a Temporary arrangement (albeit this sounds like it could be long term) so I'm left with a conclusion of an

Honestly OP , I think you know the answer and a serious chat needed and ASAP, it may cause friction in the short term but that will pale into insignificance if this notion goes ahead.

I'd carefully consider the pros and cons, long term potential implications etc, be reasonable, understanding but firm, hopefully common sense will prevail, good luck 😏

Yeah She havent asked me.But I heard her speaking in phone about this and she knows I wouldnt allow that,But I was just asking just in case if she do it without me allowing to do that what should I do

You need to speak to your wife.

It isn't just your home - it's hers too.

I doubt there is any particular law about it - it is for you and your wife to agree.

Reading the above it sounds like your brother in law and his wife is living in a bedsit and it is less than ideal.

Yeah that is right. Its not my house and not her house its "our "house. So shouldnt be doing that.but was just wondering whether there is any law regarding this.

Your landlord/lease might say something about it.
