Leaving Sky...what combo box do you recommend.... please help

Hi there, I am getting rid of sky and would like to get an easy to use Combo box that will get me the irish channels through Saorview aerial and free to air channels through satellite dish. I was also hoping to get a box that could record and also play the tv apps via broadband. I was thinking of buying the powerpoint Saorview connect, could anybody please recommend it or an alternative thats easy to use. Thanks so much.

Avoid Saorview connect if you need 7 day EPG for UK channels rather than just what's on now/next

BBC/ITV apps are geoblocked so you won't get them, Irish apps and Channel 4 are possible.

Options :

Saorview TV will give you full Irish EPG , use a USB key for recording + Freesat box which gives you full UK EPG, Series Link. But you need to swap from one to the other.

Combo box , you need to program channels and update them when they change and only now/next on the UK channels. Best get one where you can download channel lists.

If your TV could do with upgrading, I'd recommend that over a set top box.

Any Freesat TV will also have an aerial connection for saorview channels and you'll likely get a full 7 day EPG from both.

Android TV's with Freesat have categories e.g. digital TV, Freesat, satellite, hd, movies etc. so changing from rte 2 to BBC is now two taps, as is switching between epgs in the guide. You can even create a favourites list with all the channels in one if you really want to.

Not sure yet. They've just stopped providing Openvix updates for my Edision OS mini . Since I'll be looking at foreign satellite I'd be looking at 4K and multistream, WiFi is handy if you don't have cables.

OP - relevant threads , Linux boxes allow you to stream TV to tablets.
