My father has a collected a range of secondary school books aged 50-70 years old including Latin, Maths, Geography, etc

He would like these to go to someone with an interest in such. Where would you recommend these go? Do libraries take such or is there a place to give these?

  • Charity shop tbh

I can’t see a library wanting them it’s useless as study material and mainly just something interesting to have (if that kinda things for you), so I’d say a charity shop or maybe some small book stores might be interested in having them.

One of the Teaching college libraries may be interested for their archival collections. Or one of the main universities such as TCD. Contact the Head librarian of these to check if they are interested in the collection.

TCD collect books thru the year and have a sale I think every June to raise funds for their library.

I am looking for the following and would pay for them:

1974 CBS Yellow (Physics) and Pink (Chemistry) leaving cert text books published by Folens/CBS.

    Leaving Certificate Physics

    Leaving Certificate Chemistry

Might be of interest, but the only place you can even see a copy of these now in in National Library and other university libraries.

    They might take your books.

Going back in time here (1970's) but just wondering does anyone remember the "Exploring English" secondary school books? There were 3 books in the series, covering short stories, prose, and poetry.

I have the short story book but I'd love to get my hands on the poetry book, new or second-hand...any ideas where I could? I've searched online, no joy, although I see Easons have an up-dated version of the short story book.

    Cheers
