Is it a fear of litigation that prevents humane interventions on dying patients? As you say animals and pets are treated much more humanely in their final journey than humans.

I know people can request do not resuscitate orders but I also know of cases where people were left to Die a miserable death because the hospital could/would not take any further interventions. In saying that Palliative care has improved enormously over the last 20 years. But during the Covid pandemic they were restricted in treating a lot of dying patients. Don’t die during a pandemic.

It's disgusting that a golf pissup was deemed legal at the same time that bereaved relatives couldn't attend the funeral of their loved one. Says it all about our priorities as a country and the continuing sense of entitlement among a certain class of people.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.
