Why the trend of styling films in all-capitals?

On Twitter, I’ve noticed Donald Clarke and film-types he interacts with styling films all in capital letters, and I see the most recent post in this forum is ‘BELFAST’. I find it slightly irritating, almost like it’s a smug convention within film buff circles.

I rarely browse Twitter anymore but when I did this was common among some film critics and festivals goers as an alternative to using italics (which Twitter doesn't support). By doing it I guess the person is indicating that they are a writer used to italicising film titles. It possibly even makes sense in a mini review or link to a review of a new film, but capitalising it every single time you mention it seems like a lot of effort, especially when capitalising the first letter of each word will suffice 99% of the time.

Thanks for your thoughts. In fairness, a film name can get sort of lost in the text, and writing it in capitals certainly catches the eye. Inverted commas can seem a bit antiquated, too.
