log into microsoft account to turn of S mode?

Do you have to log into microsoft account to turn of S mode in a laptop. The review here says you do

And would it do a student writing notes and essays, just word processing mainly but the want to be able to install anything they want not tied to MS

correct, if you want to install for example firefox, S mode would need to be disabled

yes, last time I logged into laptop, MS account, tried to install firefox, gave me S mode error,and a link to change the settings..did you see any link to change S mode settings, I think you change from True to False, will throw some warning but thats OK

You turn off S mode in settings security Once it's turn off, it can't even been turned back on

you have to log in to a pc before you can do anything. Just like you have to turn it on.

why is that an issue? Unless you are trying to fiddle with a laptop that isn’t yours

I don't mean log into the pc. I mean log into an ms online account and into the ms store. I do not have an online ms account and don't want one. It just a way of tracking

And my pc is set so it boots without a login screen.
