    Hi

An older friend (female in 70s), has a tumor on or near to her intestine. This was discovered about a fortnight ago. She can eat very little and is not exercising at all. The tumor is malignant.

The specialist she was assigned to has said she is not experienced enough to deal with my friend and has had my friends file sent to a bigger hospital. We are now waiting for a meeting to take place a that hospital, then my friend will go to be told what course of action is best.

My concern is that the days and weeks are passing. She is losing strength and weight quite quickly. I'm worried this situation will be delayed further. My question is if anyone has gone to Northern Ireland or UK for treatment as a result of delays/waiting times in the Republic?

Is there anywhere I could go to find info about the possibility of getting speedier treatment somewhere else?

Maybe I'm panicking. But I want a plan B in case the specialists in Ireland leave her weeks and weeks before dealing with her. Any info much appreciated. Thank you.

About 10 years ago, my uncle's friend had similar issue and eventually he gets so upset and refused to eat. Some days he had one meal and most days nothing at all. And meal would consist 0 carbs (sugar) except from green veg, boiled red meat (cow, lamb), liver or baked fish and some green leafy veg. No bread, milk, potatoes, rice, fried oils, processed food or any of that nonesence. Couple of months later he start cycling and he is cycling ever since.

Along with the diet his mind set and lifestyle changed. I saw him before Christmas completely different person.
