Toilet Roll

Has anyone else noticed that toilet roll is hard got again? I was in two supermarkets over the weekend and there was next to no bog roll left. I had noticed that the previous week, they had like old summer stock out (rolls printed with images of beach loungers and the like) and there wasn't much of it. Was I just unlucky?

Are there any other items as well that people have noticed that have gotten suddenly and surprisingly hard to come by?

I wouldn't know.. I usually keep enough quilted to do me at least a month, me 😀

Keep an eye on them Chinese... it's usually them what has the 'heads up' a la soon to be hard to get 'essentials', like when facemasks were starting to become a thing... 😆

I don't think I've ever seen bog roll with pictures printed on it (apart from the novelty ones with dollar bills, crosswords, some politician's face, etc. - but they're not sold in supermarkets).

Are you sure it's not kitchen roll you're trying to wipe with?

I, accidentally, picked up a pack of 4 roll with characters from ‘The Snowman’ on them before Christmas. Thought it was kitchen towel.

I’ve never been a “fan” of over ply’d paper, myself, or ones with graphics printed on them. It’s a worrying trend.

Pubs and takeaways allowed open since the weekend with no restriction and come Monday there’s no tissue paper in the shops..

It seems to have gotten worse, or at least I've started to notice it in the last two three weeks - just as we are coming out of restrictions.

I haven't noticed toilet paper missing from the supermarket since the panic buying at the start of the pandemic. Odd that it's happening now

It’s largely just due to folks in self isolation after the last wave over Christmas and that there.

lots of shops around the town here are on half hours/closing for lunch etc due to shortage of staff at the min.

Ah but if they’re unsold they get sent back and no one pays for that copy.. 🤔😂

Definitely a lack of big packs in my local lidl. You can get 4 packs, but it's a pain in the ass, although a lesser pain in the ass than being without.
