Being able to leave a Silence

You know that moment when someone says something you disagree with and you still say "oh right" or "yeah yeah"? I've taken the view that if I don't decide to have an argument about it, then the least I could do is leave a silence. It can be quite hard to do. I feel like I'm being so mean or something. But it's always worth doing. The other person has to realise "sh1t, that c*nt's not going to saying anything". If it's in the form of a question then it's different as you are kind of obliged to respond.

Are you able to leave a silence?

I often ignore... just couldn't be bothered... i hardly ever do the same thing on boards...

it's a well known psychological trick to leave a silence to let the other person to fill the gap...

Practice makes perfect. Seriously. One of the small but best pieces of advice I was given was not to react immediately to something - the phone ringing or a comment - but to pause and consider what your reaction should be.
