Position of fusebox in a v small newbuild

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with small new builds. I'm looking at new developments online. Many have only a living room and kitchen downstairs, no utility. Do you know where they put the fusebox? I'm building a small house, no utility and am trying to find somewhere for the fusebox. There's lots of space under the stairs but I'm told it can't go under there, or in a kitchen press. I'm doing online virtual viewings to see where new housing estates put them.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

a flush distribution board in a hallway behind the front door would be the norm. It can recess into a stud partition. I’ve seen them disguised by mirrors or pictures

Thanks for that. That's very helpful. I need to find a stud partition wall to hide it in. All my walls downstairs are brick. Do you know, does this thing have to be downstairs or could I hide it upstairs? Thanks again.

There’s nothing to prevent it from being upstairs once it complies with regulations on heights/location etc

Is there any limit on length of tails running in the fabric of the building from meter cabinet?

I have 3m in my head which would pose an issue for an upstairs CU..

My own recessed board is installed on a solid wall.

I battened and boarded the small wall behind it leaving a cavity for cables .

Mine was a retro fit but since your building from scratch then it'll be easy to plan it .
