What sort of salary can I expect as a newly qualified chartered accountant?

My training contact is finishing in the next couple of months and I am wondering what kind of salary to expect as a newly qualified chartered accountant?

I am currently working in practice (trained here for 3.5 years whilst doing my CAP 2’s & FAES). I have to say I really enjoy the variety of work and the broad client portfolio.

I understand that the salaries in practice mightn’t be as attractive as in industry but I was wondering what would be an acceptable salary to expect after exiting my training contract if I stay in practice?

(Currently on €26k gross - which makes me sad 🤯)

Sorry it’s not of much help, but newly qualified big 4 in Dublin would expect 55-60k coming out now.

As Timdar said in industry/fs you can expect 55-60k. Practice outside of Dublin is tricky. You could probably expect a minimum of €40-45k in a small rural practice. But an RBK in the midlands or a large practice in Waterford, Cork, Kilkenny etc, you could get closer to €50k.
